And I'll be in First Class. A report will follow.

Dan I'm not sure if I love you or hate you right now.

How does one book a "first class" ticket?
Every time I check the price of one the cost is higher than the available credit on my CC.

shit! Are you a lawyer or an arms smuggler?

Yes ;-)

That's the trick. I have a travel budget at work and a requirement (I'll keep that to myself) for riding in "other than coach" which is basically business class.

First class is always occupied by people cashing in frequent flyer upgrades, people on really long business trips*, and people with tons of money but no sense of money.
*Some companies have policies that any flight over a certain length of time (say, eight hours) must be taken in business or first class.

Lucky bastard. We will await the full 787 Jalop Review.
What is your route?

Well, it's pretty short, just Denver to Houston.

Plenty of time. I'm in Austin, where BA just initiated non-stop service to Heathrow. Nine hours plus.

Pretty awesome!

Thanks for confirming my guess. I suspected most people can't or won't shell out the retail price. Even if you're wealthy it hurts to pay that much. I took an LA to Sydney flight once where coach was $1500 and business was $14000. First was $17500

My Company was like that when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I must travel in cattle class. I still have a quite big collection of business class socks, that I use at home. Sigh.

Just pack spare duct tape for the wings, you know, just in case...

I totally screwed up and missed a chance for that recently. I had to book a flight last minute for work in a week that saw tens of thousands of cancellations, so a first class ticket was the only thing left. Unfortunately I waited to get the OK from my boss before booking and ended up on teeny regional jets flying a circuitous ridiculous route.

I got to ride up front in a United ScreamLiner LAX-IAH the day before the FAA grounded them all for a few months. Didn't feel much different than the 767/777 BizFirst cabin other than it was noticeably narrower than the 777, and much more quiet than either, especially the horrible 767. Otherwise it was like any other flight: boring.
